What is the W3C and why do we care?

1. What does the W3C stand for and how long has it been around?
W3C means The World Wide Web Consortium. This is a group that creates standards for web technologies. Its been around since 1994.

2. What is the purpose of the W3C and why is this group important?
They are a group of people that has shaped the way we design pages for the web using such standard as the various versions of HTML, protocols such as HTTP and FTP, and CSS. They are important because without them we wouldnt have web pages with all these different things. They would all be plain and boring.

3. Explain what is meant by a deprecated element.
It means its an element that will be obsolete in the future.

4. Why is it important for you as a web designer to begin coding text using CSS?
Because the appearance is better.
